The uncomfortable withdrawal process can make the early days of recovery challenging. After drugs and/or alcohol are cleared from the system, however, a person may experience what is referred to as “pink cloud syndrome.” While pink clouding can feel like a positive experience, the reality is that it can set a person up for relapse if they are not aware of how to cope. If you’re in the early days of recovery, it’s important to understand pink clouding and learn how to protect yourself from its side effects.
